A time served electrician can potentially
earn over £30,000/£50,000 depending on which
area of electrical work he/she serves as there are three
main areas of electrical work: domestic, commercial and
industrial.
Domestic
Work within the domestic area would vary from job to job,
but would mainly consist of what you see in homes today.
It maybe a matter of installing an additional ring circuit
into a bedroom, replacing a shower unit, a new lighting
circuit or running power to an out building. All the electrical
work would differ on a small scale.
Commercial
Simlar to domestic, but on a larger scale within a different
environment. It can consist of wiring large offices using
dado and trunking installations for the use of computers
and networking, Data cabling, Security and Fire alarm systems.
Industrial
Industrial installation is not for the faint hearted, its
on a different level to domestic and commercial. Installation
work can vary on a wide scale and projects can take a lengthy
time. The use of uni-strut, tray and trucking is commonly
used, along side with Steel wire armoured cabling.
