Plastering Courses & Training
As there is no specific qualifications to become a plasterer, when looking for a job an employer will be looking for someone with on-site experience/training. Gaining experience could be tackled by becoming a plasterers mate or labourer, keeping in mind that you'd have to take a test to obtain a "Cscs" card, which will allow you to work on building sites. A self-employed plasterer can earn between £24,000 - £30,000 depending on how good they are and how much of their time is put in. It is more common for plasterers to be paid hourly, wages varying from £9 - £14 an hour. Plasterers can further their career in tiling and outdoor rendering. There are other routes to become a plasterer, as there are many short courses which you can enrol on to gain the understanding and experience of a plasterer. There are many centres across the Uk running these courses at different costs. Prices vary from £300 - £2000 depending what type of course is taken, quality of service, teaching and the duration of the course. |
